IN REMEMBRANCE: 9/11

I wanted to post something for TODAY:

And I also thought that FDR’s full quote was appropriate to Remember:

“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.”

  1. When I was growing up the World Trade Center was so modern and exciting. We would go there just to take it all in, do some shopping, have lunch or a snack. My friend, who I was house-sitting for was teaching across the street, and had to flee barefoot through the soot and ash. Neither I, nor her parents knew if she was living or dead for three days. All the phones were jammed. A scary time for sure.
